Course Description: The seventh grade social studies course is an overview of world history from prehistory to the late middle ages. Students will study the effects of the past on the present and future events through the study of archaeology, culture, geography, economics, history and political science.

* Evaluate development of civilizations
* Analyze past cultures
This knowledge will serve as a foundation for drawing conclusions about the effects of the past on the past on present and future events.

1. Develop and understanding of classical civilizations and non-European cultures in world history by analyzing how historical events affect subsequent events.
2. Analyze the relationship of the environment and human development by studying ancient civilizations.
3. Understand the importance of laws, development of government, and citizen responsibilities.
4. Analyze how customs, the arts, architecture, religion, politics, technology, geography, and economics reflect the development of civilizations.
5. Utilize reference materials, primary and secondary sources, and technological tools for research and presentation.
